PENTICTON - A proposal to bring a unique form of accommodation to the city on the Naramata Bench has been unveiled.
Poplar Grove Winery president Tony Holler says a 20-room boutique-style hotel concept was the subject of an open house last week.
Holler says the proposed high-end facility will be unique in Penticton. Plans are for the hotel to come with a spa and swimming pool but no restaurant or bar.
The hotel would be constructed on property immediately adjacent Poplar Grove Winery, with a walkway connecting the two. Access to the hotel would be off Middle Bench Road.
Holler says the winery would provide food and beverages for hotel guests.
He says the proposal is in very initial stages at this point, with the earliest start anticipated to be next year around this time.
“I’m thinking it would be up and running in 2020,” he says.
