KELOWNA - A few hours before raiding the Hells Angels' clubhouse in Kelowna yesterday, Kelowna RCMP arrested one of their prospective members.

Colin Michael Bayley, 30, was arrested in a traffic stop yesterday, May 15, and charged with aggravated assault in connection with the assault of a 41-year-old Kelowna man on May 6. The victim was taken to hospital, but no further details have been released by RCMP. Bayley appeared in Kelowna court today.

At about 9:30 p.m. last night, the RCMP searched the Hells Angels' clubhouse.

“The warrant was related to an ongoing police investigation into an alleged serious assault carried out on May 6 at an establishment located in the 300 block of Bernard Avenue,” states RCMP Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey, spokesperson for the Kelowna RCMP, in a news release.

“Investigations into crimes that have connections to gangs or organized crime are extremely complex and can take a significant amount of resources. We are fortunate in this province to have a number of integrated and specialized units ready to assist," O'Donaghey said.
