A large hedge fire yesterday afternoon in Kelowna spread to a home and three other structures damaging vehicles and boats.

There’s no estimate on how much damage was done, but Kelowna Fire Department said the home and three other structures were damaged, along with a vehicle, five recreational vehicles and two boats.

Crews were called to the blaze at a home in the 400 block of Barkley Road at around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, according to a fire department media release.

“Firefighters attacked the fire from the front and the rear of the fire and were able to quickly knock the fire down and stop the spread,” the release read.

No one was hurt.

Investigators are pulled the fire accidental pointing to an “outdoor electrical issue.”
