Environment Canada has issued a weather alert for heavy snowfall for the South Okanagan this morning.

The heavy snowfall warning includes Penticton and the Similkameen, calling for an additional 10 to 15 cm today.

The alert also covers Highway 3, Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass.

Heavy snow has developed from Keremeos to Princeton in the Similkameen this morning, with snow expected to continue through the morning before easing this afternoon.

There is also a risk of freezing rain near Princeton this afternoon.
