Another 10 to 20 cms of snow is expected to fall on the main route to the coast before the end of the day.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Coquihalla Highway from Merritt to Hope as well as Highway 3 from Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass.

The weather office says snow has increased in intensity since last night and will continue until a Pacific weather system passes later today. Snow levels are expected to remain in valley bottoms until it turns to rain near Hope.
