LAKE COUNTRY -  A 62-year-old driver of a motorcycle is in hospital with a serious injury after a wheel came off an oncoming pickup truck and struck him yesterday.

The accident happened just before 5:30 p.m. on Hwy 97 near Ponderosa Lake Road. Police attending the scene spoke to witnesses who told them the driver's side wheel of a southbound 2006 Dodge truck came off and rolled ahead of the truck before slamming into a northbound 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle and its West Kelowna rider.
