Halloween in Okanagan, Kamloops promises to be clear, dry and cool

Next week's Halloween forecast doesn't sound too scary, as meteorologist Armel Castellan says the long term forecast calls for a mostly clear sky but cool evening temperatures.

Trick or treaters in the Okanagan and Kamloops should probably find a warm costume for Halloween next week.

Environment Canada meteorologist Armel Castellan says the long-range forecast for Halloween on Thursday, Oct. 31, calls for clear skies but it looks like it will be a little chilly once the sun goes down.

Castellan says a strong high pressure ridge is expected to begin building over the weekend with lots of sunshine in the forecast next week. The lack of cloud cover will mean a sudden cooldown on Halloween when the sun sets, however.

“It’s something for trick or treaters to keep in mind, and maybe consider a warm costume after the sun goes down,” he says.

Castellan says trick or treaters can expect a fairly clear night with light winds but with temperatures dropping towards the freezing mark once the sun sets.
