Two people were taken into custody after police raided a Kelowna home last week.

The raid, on a home in the 1300-block of Highland Drive South, Feb. 11, was part of an ongoing investigation into suspected drug trafficking.

“During their search of the home, police seized quantities of suspected illicit drugs including suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cannabis from inside the residence and the property,” Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy of the Kelowna RCMP said in a news release. “Our officers also seized firearms, weapons and numerous items used for the production of illicit drugs.”

Stolen property was also seized, including three high-end bicycles worth about $15,000 and five Second World War medals.

The two individuals taken into custody were later released unconditionally without charge, pending further investigation.

Police have not been able to locate the owner of the medals and is asking anyone with information to contact the non-emergency line at 250-762-3300, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.crimestoppers.net.
