A Regina woman travelling to visit her great-grandson in Kelowna won more than just family time - she scored a $500,000 lotto win.

Williamson bought the winning lottery ticket at the Fas Gas station in Golden, where she stopped to fuel up, according to a BC Lottery Corporation media release.

She regularly plays Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49, and during her stop in Golden she she matched all four numbers playing the Extra on Saturday’s Lotto 6/49 draw.

“I feel numb,” Williamson says in a media release. “It’s only my second time visiting B.C.”

Williamson is going to use the money to make the trip of a lifetime, her first time outside of the country.

“I’ve always dreamed I could go to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville,” Williamson says in the release. “The first thing I will have to do is renew my passport.”

She’ll also share the winnings with her 12 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
