West Kelowna Mayor Gord Milsom grabbed almost all the votes in today’s municipal election.

His only competitor was Andrew Kwaczynski, who is actually a Peachland resident, finished last out of 11 candidates running for Peachland council in 2018.

Milsom finished with 4,410 votes to Kwaczynski's 855.

Milsom has served on West Kelowna city council since it was incorporated in 2007 and first ran for mayor in 2018. He got 83% of the vote that year.

Four of six incumbents ran for re-election and all won their seats back. Those were Jason Friesen, Stephen Johnston, Rick de Jong and Carol Zanon.

The two newcomers elected to council are Tasha Da Silva and Garrett Millsap.

A total number of votes cast was 5,522 with an estimated 28,098 eligible voters, the city said. Voter turnout is estimated at 19.96 per cent.
