The organizer of a music festival in Golden has been ordered to cease operations that are in contravention to public health orders.

On Aug. 25, Interior Health issued an order to cease operations to Stephanie M Ott, and the organizer of Casabastock at 3020 Imler Rd. for operating in contravention of the Public Health Act.

According to an Interior Health document, indoor events are limited to 50 people. Outdoor events must not exceed 100 people and measures must be taken so people don’t congregate in one area.

The Casabastock Music Festival is scheduled for Aug. 28 and 29 and includes “live music, DJs, dancing and fun," according to a Facebook event page.

The festival is described as “a 24-hour fundraiser fest with good music, performances and fun for a good cause.”

The set list includes: Slynk, Neon Steve, Defunk, MONKEYTWERK, Zovah and STVNKFVCE.

“Our purpose with CasabaStock is, not to oppose, but to turn our gaze away from fear and apprehension and embody hopefulness and zeal. The world is a beautiful place with souls that know we need each other in a place of joy and encouragement,” the festival’s Facebook post reads. “So by making the decision to come out to Casaba, you’ve created a new world in your universe that will be a memory not soon forgotten.”

Some camping tickets have already sold out.
