Police still seeking girl, 17, wanted in alleged teen-trafficking case

OTTAWA - Police in Ottawa say they are still looking for a 17-year-old girl they allege was involved in trafficking other teenage girls into prostitution.

They are also urging any other victims to come forward.

Two 15-year-old girls are charged in the case, with one appearing in court today and the second due in court tomorrow.

The two are in custody as police investigate what they describe as a shocking and rare case.

Police allege that on three separate occasions, the three girls used social media to contact three female victims ranging from 13 to 17 years and then took the girls to other locations to meet adult males for the purpose of prostitution.

The accused teens face multiple charges, including human trafficking, robbery, procuring, forcible confinement, sexual assault, assault, threats and abduction, with one also charged with administering a noxious substance.
