Gas prices slowly falling in Kamloops, Okanagan

The price of gasoline has slowly but steadily been falling through the fall in Kamloops and the Okanagan so it is now 10 to 15 cents per litre less than on Sept. 1.

And, it’s some of the cheapest gas available in BC.

Leading the way is Kamloops where gas at most stations was selling for about $1.71 per litre on Sept. 1 but is now $1.56.9 to $1.61.9 at most stations, according to GasBuddy.com. Costco in has that price beat at $1.52.9.

Kelowna has experienced some of the highest and most volatile prices over the past few months, reaching $1.85.9 on Aug. 13, dropping to $1.70.9 on Sept. 1 and is now at $1.59.9 at most stations with Costco coming in at $1.51.9.

Penticton and Vernon were both selling gas for about $1.75.9 on Sept 1. Vernon prices have dropped to between $1.57.9 and $1.59.9 while Penticton is at $1.61.9.

Cheaper gas can be found at a few station in Quesnel and Chilliwack that are down to $1.47.9, but other retailers in those communities have started raising their prices.

Of course, that’s nowhere near Alberta prices where Calgary stations are selling gas for $1.20.9 per litre. Even Toronto has some stations at $1.29.9.

Vancouver gas is in the $1.65.9 to $1.73.9 range while the best prices in Montreal and Halifax are $1.53.9.

Some of the most expensive gas in the country is in Dawson City, Yukon at $1.95.9.
