The Sicamous Eagles outscored their opponents 6-2 during their Jan. 20 home game, but the game was retrospectively forfeited, and the scoresheet now says the 100 Mile House Wranglers are the winners.

The Eagles had to forfeit because they dressed an ineligible player, the KIJHL announced yesterday, Feb. 4.

The game is now listed as a 2-0 win for 100 Mile House.

The Eagle's Twitter account posted on the day of the game that local prospects Owen Dewitt from the Thompson Blazers U17 AAA team and Malachi Gossen from the Salmon Arm U18 Tier 2 team would be in the lineup. One of the disallowed goals was scored by Dewitt. A video of it was shared to the Eagles' Facebook page the following day.

Eagles head coach Nick Deschenes has been suspended for one game.

The KIJHL standings have been updated. The two-point difference won’t impact the Wranglers regular season outcome, who are bound to finish fourth in the Doug Birks division. However the Eagles are four point behind the Kamloops Storm for second place in the same division, and both teams have just three games left in the regular season.
