A fundraiser for the family of the driller presumed dead in an underground mudslide at the New Afton Mine near Kamloops has already reached its goal.

The GoFundMe was started yesterday evening and the outpouring of support for Keisha Gronning and her family following the death of her husband Raymond Rosenberg had reached the $25,000 goal by this morning, Feb. 3.

Rosenberg is presumed to have died in an accident at the New Afton Mine near Kamloops in the early morning, Feb. 2. Two other workers were injured. The underground gold and copper mine experienced what is called a mud rush. Rosenberg, an experienced driller, was on site and is presumed to have died, according to New Gold, the company that owns the mine.

Keisha Gronning's sister, Tasha Gruber, launched the fundraiser yesterday around 7 p.m., according the GoFundMe page.

"He was the sole provider of their family and took pride in providing for them. A family should never have to stress about finances during a time like this, so we are hoping to ease that stress and worry," Gruber said on the GoFundMe page.
