KAMLOOPS - A fund has been created in the memory of one of the Kamloops arts community’s most well-known members.

The Kamloops Art Gallery is starting the Jann LM Bailey Legacy Fund, named after the gallery’s long time executive director who passed away on Oct. 9, 2015. In honour of her 28 years working for the gallery, efforts are under way to fundraise $28,000 by the one year anniversary of her death, according to media release.

The fund has already passed the halfway mark and the gallery is turning to the public now to help reach the goal. The funds will go towards youth arts programs and be held in trust by the B.C. Interior Community Foundation.

In addition to being the executive director at the art gallery, she also served as president of the Canadian Art Museum Directors’ Organization and the Canadian Museums Association.

You can make a donation to the Legacy Fund online or by calling the gallery at 250-377-2400.
