After several months of stability in the price of a litre of gasoline in Kamloops and the Okanagan, prices are on their way down today, at least in some markets.

GasBuddy.com reports prices ranging from 93.5 cents a litre in Vernon to 112.9 in Penticton today, Oct. 28, following several weeks of generally stable prices in all markets.

Here’s the lowest price you’d pay at the pumps in Kamloops and the Okanagan today for a litre of regular fuel:

  • Kamloops - 102.9
  • Vernon - 93.5
  • Kelowna - 107.9
  • Penticton - 111.9

Price analyst company Kent Group’s Jason Parent says oil markets are down today, but the drop in price normally wouldn’t be seen in today’s pricing.

“It’s a sizeable drop,” he says of Vernon’s present price of 93.5 cents per litre.

“It’s suggestive of market aggressiveness – someone is dropping the price in anticipation of lower prices and forcing competition to do the same,” he says.
