PENTICTON - Penticton Peach Festival continues this weekend, but there’s lots more to do in Penticton and area for those trying to get away from the crowds.
The Penticton Peach Festival wraps up over the weekend with Mega Motocross events on Friday, Aug. 11 at noon and 2:30 p.m.
Aaron Pritchett performs at Okanagan Lake Park at 9:30 p.m.
On Saturday the Grand Parade takes place starting at 10 a.m. The day’s entertainment wraps up with Brent Stewart, a Rod Stewart tribute band playing in Okanagan Lake Park starting at 9:30 p.m.
Sunday is the final day for the 2017 Peach Festival with a full day’s worth of events and a final concert in Okanagan Lake Park featuring the Powder Blues Band.

The Skaha Lake Ultra Swim happens Sunday, Aug. 13 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., with an 11.8 kilometre swim from Skaha Beach in Penticton to Okanagan Falls.
The Shriners Show and Shine’s fifth annual car show takes place in Kenyon Park in Okanagan Falls, with registration starting at 8 a.m.
There are dash plaques and goody bags available to the first 100 cars, a 50/50 draw and a silent auction.

The Leir House Sunday Arts Market takes place Sunday, Aug. 13 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., with entertainment, live art, homemade treats, produce and crafts, and vendors. Call 250-492-7997 for more information.
Geology bus tours continue out of the Summerland Museum on Saturday, Aug. 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Cost is $20 with limited tickets.

The Summer Lego Club at Penticton Library runs for a final Saturday on Aug. 12 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The Lego play event is open to ages five plus.

The Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory at 717 White Lake Road opens its doors for the annual Perseid Meteor Shower Event.
Gates open at 7:15 p.m. followed by talks with the institute’s astronomers followed by star gazing and meteor watching.
Bring a chair or blanket. The event is free.

The Penticton Square Dance Festival returns to Peach Festival for the 63rd time, running from Wednesday, Aug. 9 to Sunday, Aug. 13.
