Friendly dog ambassadors are back in the Okanagan

Regional district Dog Ambassadors will be out and about with some information on where you should be with your pooch. Dog Control will probably be in the same areas.

KELOWNA - Keep an eye out for dog ambassadors at local beaches, parks and popular dog-walking spots this summer.

Wearing brightly coloured shirts, the Regional District of the Central Okanagan says they are a great source of information on dog-friendly beaches, businesses, parks and more.

They will be cycling and walking around with leashes, bandanas and dog treats from Lake Country to Peachland. These ambassadors aren't supposed to be handing out fines, but that doesn't mean that dog control officers won't dwell in the same places.

They will also be out on patrol in vehicles and on bikes this summer, so owners are reminded that their dog must have a current licence and to pick up and properly dispose of their pet poop.
