KELOWNA - Freedom Mobile is setting up shop in Kelowna tomorrow, kicking off a summer campaign that will see stores open in other Okanagan cities and Kamloops.
Freedom Mobile, which provides cheap LTE data and wireless plans for Canadians, is opening a store in Kelowna's Orchard Park Mall tomorrow, July 31.
The opening is the first step in the company's plans for the southern Interior. The company has also expanded into Alberta and Ontario.
It plans to open stores in Penticton, Vernon and Kamloops in August, although the exact dates and locations have yet to be announced.
Freedom Mobile is owned by Shaw Communications Inc. and came into being in 2016 after Shaw purchased Wind Mobile.
Currently, it only has coverage in the Lower Mainland and Victoria but its expansion this summer will greatly increase its coverage area in the province.
