The Trews are headlining an Indigenous festival at Sun Peaks next month.
The Canadian rock ’n’ roll band will be at the ski resort next month for the 7 Celebrations – Reconnecting in Sun Peaks series.
The Trews broke through in the early 2000s with the song Not Ready to Go, and have been nominated for six Junos since then. Margit Sky Project, The Young’uns, Soul Patch, and Duane Marchand will also be part of the weekend lineup.
The event is being supported by a grant from the Canadian Heritage Grant to promote “the deeply rooted, rich cultures that are historic to our province,” according to a media release from the resort.
There will be performances by Secwépemc storytellers and entertainers Kenthen Thomas and Paul Michel, as well as Sage Hills Drum Group and Dancers.
“We are thrilled to be working with the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association to offer a weekend of celebration of Indigenous culture and to be able to host variety of outdoor concerts that will be free for all to attend,” Arlene Schieven with Tourism Sun Peaks said in the release.
The event takes place March 3 and 4 at Sun Peaks and there is no admission. The Trews will perform at the outdoor main stage on Saturday night at 7 p.m. Click here for a full schedule.
