Free transit all day on election day in Kamloops

With free transit on election day, you have no reason not to get out to the polls.

The City of Kamloops and B.C. Transit are offering free transit on all Kamloops bus routes, all day long on Oct. 21.

“It’s going to be regular service as scheduled, but any bus in the conventional fleet will be free on election day.... except for HandyDART,” says Shellene McConnell of B.C. Transit.

Although other cities like Kitimat and Port Alberni have included HandyDART in the free transit offered, McConnell explains why Kamloops won’t have the free door to door transit service for disabled individuals.

“It’s up to each of the communities, they are the ones who set the fares so each of the communities decides on that themselves, not B.C. Transit,” McConnell says.
