PENTICTON - You don't have to plug a meter in downtown Penticton on Saturday for the rest of the month.
City council has passed a motion to offer free on-street parking on Saturdays in December 2016 and December 2017.
The move, at the request of the Downtown Penticton Association, is meant to encourage residents to shop downtown and also provide an opportunity to showcase the redevelopment of Main Street’s recently completed 100 block.
Coun. Max Picton offered a motion to allow free Saturday on-street parking for both December 2016 and 2017, the remainder of the present council’s term in office.
Council endorsed the motion unanimously.
