TAZAWAKO, Japan - Olympic champion Mikael Kingsbury of Canada took silver in a dual moguls competition Sunday, maintaining his spot atop the FIS World Cup standings.

The medal, Kingsbury's second of the weekend after also earning silver in moguls on Saturday, guarantees the Deux-Montagnes, Que., native a seventh consecutive Crystal Globe.

Ikuma Horishima of Japan won gold in both events.

"I have won here these past three years and I believed my odds were good, but the conditions were very difficult with a type of snow that fit Ikuma's style perfectly," Kingsbury said. "He was excellent today, as he was yesterday as a matter of fact.

"I am happy to have made finals, to have secured another Crystal Globe and also, that my worst result so far this season is a second place."

Kingsbury won his first Olympic gold in men's moguls at the Pyeongchang Games in South Korea on Feb. 12.

On the women's side, Chloe Dufour-Lapointe, finished sixth.
