PENTICTON - Emergency services responded to a four vehicle collision north of Penticton late Sunday afternoon.

Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says the crash occurred just north of Penticton on Highway 97 at around 5:50 p.m., Feb. 12.

Everyone had exited their vehicles by the time police arrived, but debris was strewn across three lanes of traffic, reducing traffic flow to one lane.

Wrigglesworth says a red Pontiac G5 travelling northbound crossed the centreline and swerved into oncoming traffic, consisting of a southbound blue Honda Civic and a white Toyota Corolla.

The two vehicles were sideswiped, with heavy damage to the left rear wheel of the Corolla, he says. A blue Jeep Wrangler, travelling northbound, received some left rear wheel damage when struck by the front of the Honda Civic as it spun after being struck by the G5.

Wrigglesorth says the G5 driver was taken to Penticton Regional Hospital with minor injuries and charged under the Motor Vehicle Act for failing to keep to the right.
