KAMLOOPS - A former RCMP officer and youth hockey coach will face trial in Kamloops this September.
Alan Davidson is charged with seven counts of indecent assault in B.C. in locations including Clearwater, Penticton, Chase and Barriere, according to court documents.
Lawyers met in Kamloops Supreme Court today, July 4, to confirm a three-week Supreme Court judge trial beginning Sept. 11 of this year.
Davidson was a sports coach in Clearwater prior to joining the RCMP in Yorkton, Sask. in 1981.
Several complainants came forward years after the alleged assaults took place in B.C. and Davidson was arrested in Calgary in March 2014. That month, Davidson was also charged with sexually assaulting three boys while working as a Mountie in Saskatchewan from 1986 to 1993.
Crown anticipates calling 12 witnesses during the three-week Kamloops Supreme Court trial, seven of which will be complainants in the case.
Davidson is also expected to go to trial in Saskatchewan this year, but dates for that trial have yet to be confirmed.
Lawyers will meet again later this month for another pre-trial conference.
