KAMLOOPS - When school resumes this fall a new sorority will be on campus at Thompson Rivers University.
Alpha Theta, the Kamloops chapter of Kappa Beta Gamma, was initiated into the international sorority July 31 and is the 21st active chapter.
A total of 10 university students went to Seattle for the initiation over the long weekend, but the chapter will be accepting new member candidates during their rush in September.
As the first international sorority at the university, and the second Greek organization on campus, group president Kasahra Atkins says they plan to be active in the community and on campus.
Kappa Beta Gamma was founded nearly 100 yeas ago in Michigan and following the induction of the Kamloops chapter, is now one of the largest sororities in B.C.
