PENTICTON - The first evening of Penticton’s 21st Fest of Ale made for a busy Friday night for local RCMP officers.
The detachment answered 47 calls for service Friday evening, April 8, police media spokesperson Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says.
Wrigglesworth says the calls involved disturbances, bylaw issues and lots of intoxicated people.
“The festival was well managed and maintained with good organization and security, however having several thousand people drinking until 9 p.m. and then continuing their festivities throughout town led to a number of issues later on in the evening,” Wrigglesworth says.
