Firefighters rush to Kelowna General Hospital

Five fire engines, two ladder trucks and 23 firefighters rushed to Kelowna General Hospital shortly after 5:30 a.m. today, Jan. 24, responding to reports of smoke in the Centennial building.

“First arriving crews, with the assistance of KGH security and maintenance personnel were able to locate an HVAC fan motor that had overheated and charred,” a Kelowna Fire Department news release said.

The damage was limited to the equipment and crews checked to ensure there was no further spread of heat or fire.

No injuries were reported.
