Around 6 p.m. yesterday, Dec. 9, West Kelowna Fire Rescue safely put out a shed fire.

WKFR responded to a call about a structure fire on Bartley Road in West Kelowna.

Three Engines, two Safeties and a Command Unit arrived to find a large shed on fire with road sand and heavy equipment inside, according to a press release from WKFR.

Firefighters put the blaze out quickly and removed the heavy equipment safely.

WKFR says the fire is not suspicious and it could have been caused by a faulty wood stove in the shed.
