Fire in basement of vacant Kelowna house under investigation

Kelowna fire crews quickly put out a house fire early this morning.

The 911 call came in at around 6:30 a.m. today, Dec. 12, about a fire at a single-family residence in the 1600 block of Traut Road in Kelowna, according to a Kelowna Fire Department media release.

As crews arrived they saw smoke and flames coming from the basement.

Crews entered the vacant house and quickly put out the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
