An early morning fire in a commercial building at 683 Dease Road in Kelowna caused extensive damage to the interior and contents.

The building is occupied by Kettle Valley Mouldings and Millwork.

A Kelowna Fire Department news release said they were alerted by a 911 call at 3:16 a.m. today, Jan. 9, and arrived to see smoke coming from the door of the building. There were flames and smoke inside. Crews quickly knocked down the fire.

The cause is being investigated but, at this time, it’s not deemed to be a suspicious fire.

Four fire engines and 20 crew attended the fire.
