A blaze that started around 1:45 a.m. this morning has caused “extensive damage” to a North Shore Wendy’s.

Kamloops Fire Rescue responded to the fire at the fast-food restaurant, located at Fortune Drive and 8th Street, with 18 firefighters and seven vehicles, said platoon captain Troy Grant.

The fire started in the processing portion of the building, before making its way into the dining area, he said.

Crews are still on scene this morning, mopping up and will likely remain there for the next few hours.
