TORONTO - A new documentary directed by Oscar-nominated Canadian Sarah Polley will debut at the Venice Film Festival.
Produced by the National Film Board, "Stories We Tell" finds the Toronto filmmaker investigating the secrets behind a family of storytellers.
Polley uses playful interviews with the family to explore their candid yet contradictory answers to the same questions.
The 33-year-old Polley's last film, "Take This Waltz," starred Michelle Williams and Seth Rogen and premiered at last year's Toronto International Film Festival.
She was nominated for an Oscar for writing her 2006 drama "Away From Her."
The Venice fest runs Aug. 29 to Sept. 8 and will open with Indian director's Mira Nair's "The Reluctant Fundamentalist."
