LUMBY - Various locations in and around Lumby are being used as the backdrop for a movie.

The film Daughter of the Wolf starring Gina Carano from Deadpool and Richard Dreyfuss of Jaws and Stand By Me fame has been filming in the Okanagan since March and this month the lens turned to Lumby.

Crews have been working in a number of locations around the village. Photos show camera crews at well known spots like the Pat Duke Arena, as well as quieter locations in the countryside.

Parts of the movie, which is being produced by Mind’s Eye Entertainment, were shot in West Kelowna earlier this year.

This is the third film Mind’s Eye has brought to the region. The Nicolas Cage sci-fi action thriller, The Humanity Bureau came out earlier this month and the Christina Ricci-John Cusack psychological thriller, Distorted, is due out in June.

The Village of Lumby should be getting used to film crews by now — it was also one of the shooting locations for Blackway, starring Sir Anthony Hopkins, Ray Liotta and Julia Stiles.
