WEST KELOWNA – Actor Richard Dreyfuss and MMA star Gina Carano are in West Kelowna filming an action movie.

Director David Hackl of Saw V started filming Daughters of the Wolf in West Kelowna on March 18, according to an Okanagan Film Commission media release.

Carano was the lead actor in Haywire, and had supporting roles in Fast & Furious 6 and Deadpool.

“Mind’s Eye Entertainment’s slate of films that they continue to bring to the Okanagan and shoot here, is a clear statement on what the Okanagan is offering to producers," Okanagan Film Commission president Jon Summerland. "This represents the continuing growth trend as the region gains recognition as a great film and television production location.”

This will be the third co-venture for Minds Eye Entertainment and QME Entertainment who are releasing two films this spring both shot in the Okanagan. The Nicolas Cage sci-fi action thriller, The Humanity Bureau will be released next month and the Christina Ricci-John Cusack psychological thriller, Distorted, is due out in June.
