Federal election forums on tap in Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola

KELOWNA - There is no shortage of federal candidate forums scheduled in the Central Okanagan ahead of the vote next month.

As of today, Sept. 16, candidates in the riding of Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola have eight forums to juggle on their schedules.

Most are for the six candidates in this riding — which stretches from Kelowna to Summerland, Princeton to Logan Lake — but two so far are being held jointly with candidates from the riding of Kelowna-Lake Country.

  1. Thursday, Sept. 19, 7 p.m., Kelowna Senior Citizen’s Society hall, 1353 Richter St., jointly with Kelowna-Lake Country (Sponsored by the Canadian Federation of University Women).
  2. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2 to 4 p.m., Kelowna downtown library, jointly with Kelowna-Lake Country (Sponsored by Amnesty International Kelowna, Kairos B.C.-Yukon, Citizens for Public Justice and Okanagan Regional Library).
  3. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 6:15 p.m., Keremeos, Victory Hall (Sponsored by Keremeos Chamber of Commerce).
  4. Monday, Sept. 30, 6 p.m., Peachland Community Centre (Sponsored by Peachland Chamber of Commerce).
  5. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 6 p.m. Peachland Community Centre (Sponsored by GreenOkanagan.Org).
  6. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 6 p.m., Lions Hall (Sponsored by Greater Westside Board of Trade).
  7. Thursday, Oct. 10, 6:30 p.m. at Centre Stage Performing Arts Centre in Summerland (Sponsored by Summerland Chamber of Commerce).
  8. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 7:30-9:30 a.m. at Coast Capri Hotel (Sponsored by Kelowna Chamber of Commerce).

The candidates running in the Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola include incumbent Conservative Dan Albas, the Liberal Party's Mary Ann Murphy, the NDP's Joan Philip, the Green Party's Robert Mellailieu, the Marijuana Party's Brynn Jones and Allan Duncan with the People's Party.
