Family-friendly films playing for free in Kamloops and the Okanagan

Movie theatres in Kamloops and the Okanagan are inviting families to enjoy a free show this morning, Nov. 19.

Cineplex is hosting Community Day all across the country – including at its locations in Kamloops, Vernon and Kelowna, according to a release from the company.

Family-friendly films will be screening for free, pop and popcorn will cost just $2.50 each, and $1 from every order will go to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada.

Movies that can be watched for free today include Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, The Lost City and The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run.

“We are thrilled to welcome guests back for our annual Community Day event, an incredible way to kick off the holidays and the season of giving. We have a fantastic lineup of movies, a vast selection of candy and of course, our legendary popcorn,” president and CEO Ellis Jacob said in the release.

“We believe in giving back to our local communities and we are so happy to be able to support BGC Canada and the important work they do to empower our future generations and provide the resources they need to succeed.”

Anybody interested will have to get moving – theatres go back to regular prices and programming in the afternoon.
