A toonie swim is scheduled at the Penticton Community Centre Pool from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

From noon until 2 p.m., families can participate in a free skate at the South Okanagan Events Centre with the Penticton Vees. There will be free hot chocolate and coffee, and skate rentals will be available for $2 with proceeds to go to the Penticton Minor Hockey Association. Helmets are required for the skate.

A barbecue will be set up in front of gate one at the events centre from noon to 2 p.m. Cost is by donation.

A free showing of “Despicable Me 3” will be presented at the Cleland Community Theatre from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

In Osoyoos, a Family Day Disco Skate takes place from noon until 2 p.m. at the Sun Bowl Arena. Admission is free, with free hot dogs, fountain drinks and cupcakes available while supplies last.

Family Day in Oliver is being celebrated with a neon free skate at the Oliver Arena. Participants are asked to wear their brightest and boldest colours. Face painting, music, lights on the ice and hot chocolate will liven up the afternoon.
