Expect major delays on Glenmore Road in Kelowna starting Monday

If part of your commute is using Glenmore Road to get from Lake Country to Kelowna, or visa versa, you can expect major traffic delays starting on Monday as the City of Kelowna begins a paving project.

Traffic along Glenmore Road from Begbie Road to Cross Road will be reduced to single-lane alternating traffic from Monday, July 13 to Wednesday, July 15, according to a City of Kelowna news release.

Drivers are being encouraged to take alternative routes.

“This section of Glenmore Road is single-lane traffic so we need to reduce the road to one lane while we work on the other,” City design technician Bruce Dacre said in the release.

“Glenmore is a high traffic road and we want to keep traffic moving in both directions, but realize this construction will cause some significant delays.”

An earlier paving project on Glenmore Road began June 29 and the City hopes it will be finished by July 16, weather permitting.
