Starting next week, lanes along Glenmore Road will be reduced to single-lane alternating traffic.

Beginning June 29, Glenmore Road from Kane Road to Begbie Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction to accommodate milling and paving of the section, according to a City of Kelowna press release.

Completion is expected by Monday, July 15, depending on the weather, according to the release.

"Travellers are encouraged to plan their commute and consider an alternate route during road work. Transit will continue to operate on its regular schedule but will be making stops in the travel lane. Speed through the construction zone will be reduced to 30 km/h."

"This project is one of several road segments that are included in the City’s annual Pavement Management Program which prioritizes the repair of city roads. The mill and fill treatment applied on this section of Glenmore Road will extend the road surface life by 15 to 20 years," according to the release.
