Kelowna firefighters showed off their softer side in what’s arguably one of the cutest rescue missions in recent days.

This past weekend, the Kelowna Fire Department Engine Crew 1 responded to a call to assist a wildlife rescue team save seven ducklings that fell down a 15-foot deep storm drain.

With some teamwork and some gentle care, all the ducklings were reunited with their mom.

“These are those heart-lifting calls we really enjoy doing,” reads an Instagram post on the effort.

“Great job Engine 1 crew, Kelowna RCMP, and City of Kelowna utility crews for rescuing these baby ducks! And Special thanks to Sydney the animal rescuer.”
