Enderby's famous drive-in theatre has completely sold out of tickets for its opening week.

Starlight Drive-In recently announced that it would be holding a test run April 30 to May 4, but has sold out of tickets until May 10 (as of May 2), according to the theatre's website. The theatre had to make significant changes to open for the season during the pandemic.

The theatre reported that customers, so far, have been following social distancing measures and that "everyone was happy to be outside."

The drive-in currently has a limit of 100 cars, less than 50 per cent of normal capacity.

Currently Sonic the Hedgehog and 1917 are playing at the drive-in.

Here are the changes made as listed on the Starlight Drive-in website:

Limited Attendance: Capacity has been reduced drastically to accommodate social distancing. Each car will be given 20 feet of parking space. Visitors will need to park, as directed, in the middle of said parking spot and will not be permitted to move once parked. Some of the things that people enjoy the most, open hatches, trucks parked backwards, along with sitting outside will all still be allowed. but please stay within the confines of your 20-foot parking stall.

Online Reservation System: In order to minimize contact between the public and our team and to ensure that no-one leaves their home needlessly, all ticket sales will be online in advance, there will be no ticket sales at the box office. An online ticket will guarantee entrance, but not a specific parking spot. The portal is available by clicking "submit" below, once you complete your purchase, print the ticket at home and bring it to the drive-in.

Simplified Pricing Structure: Our pricing structure has been simplified for ease of online purchases, and savings for our guests.

Limited Hours: The gates will only open one hour before the first show to get everyone parked and situated safely, this also shortens your total time at the drive-in.

Limited Activities: Some of the activities you enjoyed in the past won’t be possible until social distancing rules are relaxed, for example: ball playing, walking your dog, visiting between vehicles

Facilities: Washrooms in the concession will have social distancing measures including limited capacity and additional porta-potties will be on site

Concession Changes: Limited products will be available at the start the season which may be expanded depending on the success of social distancing changes. Strict social distancing measures will be in place, and guests are asked to send one person from their vehicle to concession to minimize risk.

Available Movies: Due to the impact of the coronavirus on the movie industry, the drive-inhave very limited new releases.

Purchase tickets through the drive-in's website.
