ENDERBY - An Enderby man died after his pick-up truck veered off the road and hit a power pole on the weekend.

Enderby Fire Department chief Cliff Vetter says firefighters got the call at 12:45 a.m. Saturday, Aug.18 and were at the scene of the single vehicle crash roughly five minutes later.

Vetter says a middle-aged Enderby man was driving southbound on Highway 97A about four kilometres north of Enderby when it appeared he failed to negotiate the corner and hit a hydro pole.

The driver was killed in the crash.

The highway was closed, and power was out in the area, for several hours.
