LILLOOET – One person is dead, another is missing and a third person has survived a small float plane crash on a lake about 100 kilometres west of Lillooet.

RCMP spokesperson Staff Sgt. Annie Linteau says in a media release police divers are on the way to search for the missing person. She said the third person suffered "serious but what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries."

Police got 911 calls about the crash on Tyaughton Lake in Gold Bridge shortly before 1 p.m. today, Aug. 1.

Linteau says callers to 911 said some nearby boats were trying to rescue people from the plane crash in the remote area.

She said police are trying to contact the families of those on board the plane.

Shannon Miller of B.C. Emergency Health Services says there were three or four people aboard the plane.

Miller says an air ambulance and another paramedic team in a ground ambulance were dispatched from Gold Bridge, which is about 300 kilometres northeast of Vancouver.
