Eatology fills plate with bus station purchase

Kristina Klein, owner of Eatology, is thrilled to purchase the Greyhound bus station, keeping her popular restaurant in the same location.

VERNON - The owners of Eatology found a silver lining in the closure of Greyhound bus services in Vernon; they've purchased the building.

Kristina Klein, owner of the popular restaurant on 30 Street, bought the property they were leasing in December. The deal is scheduled to be finalized on Jan. 12.

"We love where we are," she said. "We saw the opportunity to buy the building. We'll have a bit more freedom."

The Greyhound bus station, which closed due to the company's retreat from B.C., is a Vernon landmark. Klein's purchase of the property allows Eatology to stamp the building with its own identity.

Klein plans to expand her restaurants by adding washrooms, booths, and tables. She expects to begin renovations next month. She hopes the tables and booths will be ready for service by summer.

"We're very excited," she said. "It feels great. We're so blessed."
