Kamloops cops took 400 grams of various drugs off the street during a New Year's Eve traffic stop.

No one's been charged yet, but Kamloops RCMP seized suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine and codeine, more than $5,000 in cash, brass knuckles and a loaded nine millimetre handgun from the car during the Dec. 31 bust, according to an RCMP news release.

An officer spotted a known drug dealer leaving a North Shore home around 8 a.m. The man jumped into an vehicle idling outside and it drove off. The officer pulled over the suspect vehicle in the 600 block of Duncan Avenue.

No criminal charges have been laid yet. The investigation is ongoing.

“Keeping these drugs and weapons off the streets of our community will have an immeasurable impact, but has likely saved lives,” Kamloops RCMP Supt. Jeff Pelley said in the release. “We will continue to identify and proactively target those connected to the drug trade in Kamloops in our efforts to keep our community safe."
