One person was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a head-on crash on Westsyde Road in Kamloops on Sunday.

Officers were called to a crash between a Honda Civic and a Ford Ranger pickup at approximately 1:10 p.m., Feb. 26, on Westsyde Road just north of Parkview Drive, according to an RCMP media release.

The man driving the Civic was arrested for impaired driving. His passenger was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Several people in the small pickup were hurt but not seriously, RCMP said.

The suspect was released from police custody with a court date and a driving prohibition.

Anyone who witnessed or has information or dash cam footage related to this incident is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP.
