KELOWNA - Police have identified a suspect in a downtown Kelowna stabbing that sent a young man to hospital with serious injuries.

On June 27, Kelowna RCMP said a 16-year-old youth had been taken to hospital after being stabbed on the 200 block of Bernard Avenue. He remains in critical condition.

According to a press release, police took a suspect into custody and released him pending the results of the investigation. Police believe the stabbing was an isolated incident and the suspect and victim knew each other.

Anyone with additional information on the stabbing is asked to contact Kelowna RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
