Did you see the SUV that hit Rutland woman, then fled?

KELOWNA - A pedestrian was left unconscious after being hit by an SUV which did not stay at the scene in Rutland yesterday evening.

A 28-year-old Kelowna woman was crossing the road at Highway 33 West and Dougall Road around 6 p.m., April 25, when she was knocked to the ground by a full-sized white SUV, Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a release.

The woman was hit on the hip and thrown to the ground. Three people, unknown to the victim, are believed to have assisted the woman, who lost consciousness.

The driver did not remain on the scene.

The bystanders who assisted the woman as well as anyone else who may have witnessed the collision are asked to call Const. Cheryl Duggan of Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
